Makenna's Frozen Birthday Party

Makenna’s 5th birthday party was a hit!  This year we decided to just invite her girl friends and have a princess party.  We even had Queen Elsa attend from Happily Ever Parties .  I did lots of research before deciding on which company to go with and boy am I glad I did.  Anna who played Queen Elsa was absolutely wonderful.  The girls were so excited when she came to the door.  She stayed in character the entire time and kept the girls thoroughly entertained.  She read them a story, sang with them, painted their faces and then helped with singing Happy Birthday.  I would definitely recommend her to anyone planning a Frozen party for their little one.  Here are a few pics from the party.  I thought about giving a break down of where I found all of the items below but instead if you are interested in any of the items below just leave me a comment and I will let you know where I found them.  Most of what I found was absolutely free online.  I can list the links for you as well.  I wonder what theme she’ll want next year.  Thank goodness for Pinterest.

A letter to Makenna on her 5th birthday...

My baby isn't a baby anymore.  :-(  Happy 5th birthday Makenna Jayde.  You have grown into a little lady & I'm having a hard time getting used to you being so independent.  Where has my baby gone?  While I love you learning to do things on your own please don’t ever forget that I'm always here to help you or hold your hand along the way. Thank you for still allowing me to give you tons of hugs & kisses daily. I know I only have a few more years til that's not "cool" so I cherish every minute of it. You're the best thing that could have ever happened to me and I can't imagine my life turning out any other way.  Your smile is infectious, your humor...addicting.  I just can’t get enough of you.  I sure hope all your birthday wishes come true.  Love you MOST sweet girl.

The Bridal Extravaganza - Austin

We attended the Bridal Extravaganza at the Palmer Event Center today.  Boy was it EXHAUSTING.  I'm definitely starting off my Maid of Honor duties with a bang.  It was fun though.  We were able to meet some of Austin's premier wedding professionals face to face and sample cakes, cupcakes, etc.  There were tons of catering booths set up that we (starving) also made our way to.  My favorite of them all was Schmidt Family Barbecue . Unfortunately my sister can't use them because they were not on the list of vendors from her event center but I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for great bbq.  We watched as people came back for second & third samples.  We may or may not have been guilty of that ourselves.  You will see a pic below of Tarrah (bridesmaid) enjoying their "meat".  =)  This became the joke of the day.  Besides the food, we also enjoyed getting to meet different vendors that supply everything you could possibly need for your wedding.  I think Britt enjoyed it and I know we all did.  If you're a future bride it definitely is something you should attend before making any decisions during your wedding planning.  The next show in Austin is

She popped the question and I said YES!!!

Well looks like someone gets to be the Maid of Honor for the first time.  Yes...she popped the question and of course I had to say yes!  My baby sister is getting married October 17th!!!  Oddly she does not have her engagement ring yet which is why I have not announced anything yet but that is a story for another day.  The important fact for today is that she asked and I said yes.  Is it cute???

It's a sweatpants, fire, & Netflix kind of day....

This is what happens when you have the flu.  Netflix, warm fire, & sweatpants.  Now I just need to get rid of this darn flu.

2015

Saw this on Instagram and had to steal it.  This is all I want for 2015.  As for any resolutions this year...just to become more organized & healthy.  Is that too much to ask?  ;-)
